Volkswagen thinks of an electrical high autonmía 2019

Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess has revealed in an interview that his brand is thinking of taking an electric car of great autonomy to 2019. This new model would look similar to a Volkswagen Golf size, with about 400-600 kilometers per charge and similar to that of a Volkswagen Passat interior roominess.

It is a statement of intent by the German manufacturer, that beyond premium eccentricities, start designing the electric car that normal people would want to buy, something similar to what they are trying to Tesla's future Model 3 and Nissan with new generation of Leaf.

For now they will file a similar prototype to future production model in the next Paris Motor Show, where we can see the outlines of the car and how they will resolve the issue that of "a car the size of a Golf and habitability of a Passat ". Surely we have prepared something groundbreaking in terms of livability.

And it is that electric cars have not because they have the same design and thermal design cars. To date it followed a fairly continuista pattern, but if you think about it, an electrical has many fewer parts and components required for operation. Besides cooling requirements they are much lower.

I say this because it may not be necessary to have a large engine compartment at the front as in most cars but that space could be used for the habitability of the passengers if they can move the car to other organs hubicaciones.

We will see that surprise us German engineers, but I expect some innovative and intelligent solution such as unfairly maligned it was the Mercedes-Benz A-Class first generation.

On the other hand, it seems that Volswagen will continue with the idea of having a common platform for different products so we would not be talking about a single car but surely develop a range of new products in the wake of this. It is speculated that a coupe, a light van and an urban SUV could be VW ideas you have in mind for this modularity.
